「The Dawn Of Eve」
In early June 2020, the twins were told by their mother that they were going on a 3-day trip to a women's empowerment retreat in Hawaii called "The Dawn of Eve"citing that being around other young women their age would be good for them both. Little did the twins know that the trip wouldn't be only 3-days.Their plane went down, one of their fellow passengers died, they nearly died from the elements, food poisoning, starvation, and so much more has happened to them and their fellow survivors. Unbeknownst to them, this was The Dawn of Eve, and it was not a retreat or wilderness therapy but actually, a research experiment spearheaded by Dr. Gretchen Klein. And no one is coming to rescue them.

Reason for Trip: Nova has been struggling with the loss of her father Ivan for the past two years. While Jenna seemed to be handling her own grief, Jaclyn felt it would be better to send the twins together than to send Nova alone.

➣ While Nova has no official medical diagnosis she has a well-kept history of self-harm which is the main reason she keeps her knife from Dot’s inventory.
➣Nova uses her Dawn Of Eve journal to sketch. Occasionally she’ll write things, her thoughts are framed as if she’s writing letters to Bowie back home.

Do Not Go Gentle
A geomagnetic storm, referred to as The First Flare, takes out the electricity causing a commercial airliner to crash down in a place called Pleasant Valley on the Island of Great Bear, Canada. Among the survivors are Jenna and Nova Laurens.With the electricity and communications gone, wildlife behavior is disturbed causing predators to attack humans they would once avoid, and weather patterns are also disrupted launching the Island of Great Bear into extreme cold temps and brutal snow storms. Will the Laurens twins have what it takes to survive the quiet apocalypse, or will they simply fade into the long dark?

On the night of the First Flare, Nova and Jenna are passengers on plane that comes down somewhere in the hills of Pleasant Valley on Great Bear Island. Jenna suffered a badly sprained ankle and Nova suffered a concussion. During all the chaos of the initial crash Nova managed to find Jenna and help her walk not too far from the crash site where they found a cave to hunker down in. Nova managed to start them a fire and spent a week scavenging whatever food and clothing she could from the plane. Eventually they were found and helped by a group of local survivors by the names Moose, Bear, Buck and Doe who took them in and showed them the ropes to surivivng the quiet apocalypse.
Fast Times At Wiskayok High
The Laurens Family moved from Portland, Oregon to Wiskayok, New Jersey due to a job opportunity for Jaclyn when the twins were about 7-8 years old. Maybe about a year after the move Jenna developed an interest in soccer and decided she was going to try out for the school team. This meant that she would drag Nova along to tryouts as well-under protest of course.Both of the twins turned out to be pretty decent players and played on the team ever year through middle school continuing into high school. Nova typically had the role of an alternate spending most of her time at games riding the bench- when she did get the chance to play, it was obvious that her heart wasn't in sports. Jenna had dabbled in various positions over the years but was most commonly a striker. Despite both of the twins trying out and making the team in their sophomore year, Nova never actually showed up to a single game or even a practice, and Jenna ended up officially quitting the team midway through the year after their dad's death.

So, it was no surprise when she started making her own music at fourteen with his older equipment, and even less of a surprise when a couple of years later Jenna started playing with her. Before long they’d formed a band, just the two of them, which they named Grenade Jumper after the Fall Out Boy song, one of Nova's favourite artists.They were able to record their own songs and a cover of their namesake. They have a small but loyal following on social media by the time they turned 18. Who knows how much farther this could go?

It was perfect, Jaclyn and Melinda got along splendid, and the Washington's had three kids close in age to the twins- two of the Washington kids were identical twins themselves.Nova and Josh were practically inseparable and he was always more than happy to have her around and include her with his friend group. Mere months after the tragic death of Ivan, Nova came home after smoking with 'friends' to find not only had her house burglarized but also her mother laying in a pool of her own blood. By the time Jenna got home, the place was a crime scene. With no extended family to take them the twins were placed into foster care.The Scott Family took them in, a wonderful young couple with three other adopted children. They were kind, and caring, and absolutely adored the twins... at least until one day when Nova skipped school and came home high. After some consideration for the younger kids, Nova was put back into the system. Jenna stayed with the Scotts and eventually like their other kids was adopted. Nova bounced around from a couple other families, and a group home before eventually settling in with the Hackley's. She was there longer than anywhere else and as time went on they became more and more abusive. Eventually one night nine months after arriving, she managed to get an opening. She took as much as she could carry and ran for Sacramento. Figuring if she crossed state lines into California no one would search that far.

~Timeline~
Season 1
After running away from her abusive foster family, Nova immediately heads for the state line figuring it would be harder for her to be found if she got out of Oregon. She celebrates her 16th birthday alone, with a stolen candy bar. Nova first meets Patrick while living on the streets of Sacramento just before Blood Brothers and introduces herself as Amber Chesnokova. At first Nova does not want much to do with Patrick not trusting men, or anyone of authority. Eventually though, just before Red John's Footsteps he wins her over by buying her a burger.
Season 2
Nova and Patrick meet each other regularly for dinner, usually at the previously mentioned diner, or a food truck that has a regular stop. Sometime after Red Badge, Nova is found by local cops sleeping near a murder scene, woke up, hassled, handcuffed and placed in the back of a squad car. The CBI eventually shows up and she recognizes Patrick and meets the rest of the team using her alias. Nova develops a habit of sometimes breaking into the back seat of the Citroën to sleep, or sitting on the hood waiting for Patrick to leave the office to get food, showing that their bond is growing closer. During Red Sky At Morning Nova finds a strange note in her camp from an Ivan Krasny (Red John), after showing it to Patrick, and much arguing between the two, she's placed in protective custody with Kristina Frye much to Nova dismay due to not having a pleasant experience with her.
Season 3
Weeks have passed since Kristina Frye's disappearance, and Jane has been standing Nova up for their regular dinners. This results in Nova sitting on the hood of the Citroën waiting for Jane during Red Sky At Night. He finds her there when he leaves the offices, Nova confronts him about it. After all is said and done Jane, offers to buy Nova dinner. While sitting in the passenger seat with the bag of food on her lap Nova takes that time to inform Patrick of her real first name. She begins to start tagging along more on cases when Jane allows or sneaks her along. Nova turns 17 around Jolly Red Elf.
Season 4
Nova has grown much closer to Patrick and the CBI unit as a whole. She can often be found in the CBI offices lazing on Jane's couch, or sometimes tagging along on cases. This all comes to a head of course when Jane has his break down around the time of Red Rover Red Rover. During Jane's 6th month disappearance, Nova isolates herself away from the rest of the CBI time. It's also over this period where Nova has her 18th birthday.
Season 5- 6x08
While on a case at a college in San Francisco, Jane meets Jenna a young blonde woman that looks identical to Nova while questioning people in the dorms. In Jenna's room while questioning her about the victim, he find photos of her with Nova and learns that they are sisters. When he meets back up with Nova he asks her about it and she proceeds to get squirrelly before confirming it. Around this time Nova also begins to get homesick for Portland. At the end of the college case, Jenna finds Patrick again before he leaves and gives him a gift; a photo of her and Nova with him at a convention for their 9th birthday.Nova and Jenna have their 19th birthday after the events of 6x08

In the early spring a mere 4 months after the tragic sudden passing of their father, the twins were forced to move halfway across the world to London, England. Jaclyn, their mother, insisted that a change of scenery and a clean slate would be good for them. It would help them move on. Plus living near their grandmother would be nice.Nova wasn't convinced, to her it felt like squirting lemon juice into an open wound. New house, new neighborhood, new school, no friends, no dad. Watching her sister and mother move on with their lives and be happy, Nova is left feeling desolate and isolated.

Upon waking up the Twins, along with many other survivors, found themselves stranded on a mysterious Island somewhere in the South Pacific.

On the twelfth hour of the first day of October 1989, Jaclyn Laurens gave birth to twins alone in her apartment. This was unusual only because she had not been pregnant when the day first began. Being young, single, and struggling to start a career, she gave one of the babies up for adoption and kept the other. Nova Laurens was raised in Portland, sheltered and isolated. She was discouraged from using her powers in fear of being abducted. Jenna Scott was adopted and raised in Seattle, Washington, she lived a relatively normal life while being encouraged to learn how to safely control her powers, she eventually left Seattle to attend college and now resides in The City.After the death of eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves, the founder of The Umbrella Academy, Nova took it upon herself to head to The City. Hopeful to talk to her former childhood heroes and learn how to use her own abilities once and for all. But nothing at all could prepare Nova for what she was getting herself into...

In showing up and spending time with this former childhood heroes she starts to see them as people and friends, and even agrees to fight along side the rest of them against the impending Apocalypse.

After the events of Apocalypse Suite and agreeing to travel back in time with the siblings, Nova finds herself spit out of the time jump and into the City of Dallas, Texas... on May 28th, 1960. It takes three weeks for the reality of her situation to sink in; she's stranded and the siblings aren't coming for her. Heartbreaking as a revelation it is, Nova tries to rationalize and understand the decision, she's a stranger they only just met after all.With no way of returning home in sight, Nova begins to build herself a life in 1960. She gets a job at a shitty non-segregated bar, and a small crappy shoebox apartment, and she beings to adopt a Greaser. She misses home, misses her family, hell she even misses the Umbrellas, and routinely returns to the alley way where she first landed to check for others hoping against all odds.

CANON DIVERGENTFollowing the events of Dallas, Nova eventually returns home with the Umbrellas on April 2nd 2019- only to learn that this is not their home timeline but a new one where the Umbrellas never existed and the Sparrows exist in their place. A fight breaks out between the two teams and as much as the Umbrellas (and Nova) try the Sparrows are just too good. They move in sync like a well oiled machine and teaming up their powers against someone is like breathing for them. One by one the Umbrellas are knocked out. Nova, who had been acting more defensively and offensively, looks over at Five as he realizes he's out of energy before everything goes black.When Nova comes to she finds herself in a hotel room. The door is locked, the tv is playing a creepy looping cartoon, and when she breaks the mirror the damage she does heals before her very eyes. There's a knock and a click at the door, and upon opening she's greeted by a faceless automaton handing her a domed dining tray, the door clicks again behind her as she takes it and walks into her room. Upon uncovering the food she's met with some grey sludgy gruel garnished with a single large cockroach. Nova freaks out dropping her food onto the carpet before going to look out the window to find out where she is and get back to the Academy- only to see a galaxy up above her in the sky and a dusty red planet below.Nova, and The Umbrella Siblings, are locked away in The Hotel Oblivion- a prison created by Reginald housed in a pocket dimension in deep space. They'll need to fight against the mind games the Hotel plays against them, work together as a team and find their way out. But they'll find they're not the only ones attempting to break free.

Hawkins, Indiana is a quiet, sleepy, safe town. Jaclyn Laurens was born and raised there, while Ivan Chesnokov moved in with his parents when he was six. The two of them met in high school and started dating in Ivan's senior year.On December 8th 1968, at 9:48 am Jennifer Ivanovna Laurens was born, and a whooping 7 minutes and 39 seconds later Nova Amber Laurens followed. That same day when Ivan was filling out the birth certificates was when he decided that he was going to take his fiancée’s last name, due to the anti-Russian sentiment of the time. They were lucky to have Jaclyn’s parents around when the twins were young as Ivan was working as a composer as well as doing odd jobs which often meant that he needed to travel to Indianapolis, or other neighboring towns to get work. Ivan quickly grew tired of always being away from his family and decided to settle down and start his own business in Hawkins.Ivan opened up Solis Music, a music shop that sold a variety of items from Records, cassettes, instruments, and more related goods and services. He still took some work as a composer using his home studio at his house in Loch Nora, though it was fewer and far between. The store was a one-stop shop for all your music needs in Hawkins and proved to be quite successful amongst the townspeople. Ivan and Jaclyn finally officially married when the twins were roughly 5 years old both of them were flower girls.All seemed well in this idyllic town until 1983 when tragedy struck. First, a local boy goes missing, then one of the Twins' classmates too, plus a couple of other townspeople, and suddenly maybe Hawkins isn't as safe as people once believed.

Set in November 1983, Nova and Jenna are attending Hawkins High for their sophomore year when news travels fast through town that Will Byers has disappeared. It was an event that truly rocked the town as Hawkins was considered small, even idyllic nothing bad had happened there as long as the twins had been alive.Ivan volunteers to the search party, helping check the woods for Will. He would want everyone possible if it were one of his own daughters. When Barbara Holland stops showing up to school a few days later, Ivan and Jacklyn tighten the slack on the twin's a little. Allowing them to go to school, the shop, and home, just until things are explained again. Unfortunately it doesn't take long before a body is found in the quarry and identified as Will's. The Laurens attend the funeral and offer their condolences to Joyce and Jonathan. They are as shocked as anyone to learn days later that the buried body was a false identification and that Will had been found, they were grateful nonetheless.Everything in Hawkins seemingly started going back to normal. Until November 25th, the day after Thanksgiving. Ivan Laurens passed away that day. His funeral was held a couple weeks later on December 6th. Not as many came to pay their respects to Ivan.

In the time that she was off work she managed to cultivate a friendship with Eddie Munson, who as a regular customer she'd always been relatively friendly with. It's nice spending time with a kindred spirit, plus the weed he sells her keeps the panic attacks mostly at bay. Jenna quit cheerleading, was dumped by her boyfriend and is spending her free time either babysitting and saving money, or attending parties and sometimes even hooking up if the mood suits her. As for Jaclyn Laurens, their mother, your guess is as good as the twin's. Around the time of the freak storm was about the same time Nova had started noticing Nathan. It was kind of hard to not notice the loud-mouthed boy in an orange jumpsuit around the community center near her apartment. What she had never expected was for him to actually talk to her or actually try to befriend her... let alone that they would end up sleeping together. When Nathan suggested it didn't have to be a one-time thing Nova agreed. Sex wasn't her favorite activity but, what was the alternative? Never seeing Nathan again?It's a hard agreement for her to get used to and some days it does eat at her when she hears him flirting with other girls or he tells her about the latest attempt to get with one of his ASBO friends. But most days Nova's happy. Nathan makes her feel so happy, so she's gonna try for a little while not to be too picky.
Jenna never really noticed Nathan before Nova started to bring him around to their flat. Jenna doesn't think very highly of him, she thinks that he's offensive and rude. Simon is a quiet, neat young man. He tends to keep mostly to himself during service, usually following directions to the letter or sometimes hiding behind his phone screen and filming a lot of what transpires amongst the rest of the group. Due to be quieter and different from the rest he tends to be on the receiving end of a lot of their "jokes" namely from Nathan.Simon was sentenced to community service after he had attempted to burn down his neighbors house and spending a stint in a psych ward due to the crime.
Nova and Simon have been nothing but kind to one another. She knows what it's like to be picked on for being "weird" just because you're quiet, so she's more than happy to defend Simon from the other's teasing whenever he needs it.
Jenna is maybe the slightest bit teasing to Simon, but she never means to be a bitch about it. She just likes seeing him blush and he's easy to fluster. All things considered, Jenna actually thinks Simon is hot in a totally nerdy way.
Bowie is a well mannered, mature and compassionate man. He wasn’t always like that though. In his younger years he was a very angry kid, and the anger he used to be filled with still occasionally haunts him as an adult. While Eddie can be boisterous (sometimes boardering on obnoxious), he is also incredibly kind, compassionate and creative. Especially to those willing to give him a chance.
